I think stress is a definite trigger for me. My skin got progressively worse after coming off antibiotics for 10 years and I think the main problem was being so stressed about the slightest hint of red or papules that it became a self fulfilling prophecy. I ultimately went back on the antibiotics for a few months and then resolved to go with the flow and whilst my skin isn't amazing it's nowhere near as bad. Trying lots of different things (diet, creams etc) was very stressful because I wasn't getting the results I wanted, so I am very much less is more/everything in moderation about all things really & I prioritise my sleep because being tired for me doesn't help me deal with stress/stressors

Yes I have noticed sleep is vital for overall health but especially stress. I tend to get insomnia during stressful times which makes it harder to cope with the stress and I become an emotional wreck!!! Sleep is also beneficial to our skin anyway.

I asked on your FB group this week because my stress is causing havoc with my skin at the moment. Not just my rosacea but I'm having a perioral dermatitis flare up. My skin is very unhappy! But I have so much understanding about my triggers and I also know that this will pass and my skin will improve but this is a huge sign that I need to take care of my emotional state. Journalling, meditation and just having a day where you do nothing but watching favourite shows and films help.

Stress is definitely a trigger for me. For example I got made redundant at the start of this week, and 4 days later I can feel the beginnings of what normally ends up being a horrible embarrassing, can’t miss it pustule. They take a week to go then leave a red mark for another week or more and in the mean time another one might come and replace it. Sometimes get up to 3 - one after another. There’s nothing to do but ride it out! I cover it (I use Rosalique daily but also use a concealer stick for these specifically) to reduce the redness but the swelling is always still visible. It’s awful. If anyone has tips or tricks I’d love to hear them :)
