Every Friday I open up a discussion topic and ask you for your recommendations, experiences, questions, or general feelings on a specific topic.
These Threads are a way to share your knowledge and meet other people in the community, so please comment and do feel free to like and reply to other people as well - we’re all here because we are in the Rosacea Club! 🧡
As a British person this feels very uncomfortable! But here I go: I like my tooth gap and I like my 'beauty spot' mole on my upper lip. Both are things people have made fun of me for, but I wouldn't change them for anything!
This is such a great idea. I like my eyes, they are a little small but uniquely colored (blue with a goldish ring around the pupil) and my fraternal twin has the exact same color eyes so even when I don’t see myself as beautiful or am having a bad skin day I see how beautiful her eyes (and all of her) is and I remind myself to focus on all the blessings I do have
I love my hair! It took me a long time to love it, being a natural redhead, I hated it when I was a wee girl but now I adore it and love how it’s gently fading as I’m getting older 👩🏻🦰
My big eyebrows! Like others, I fought against them years ago but now I'm grateful for the big ol' slugs. The things I can express with just one of them...
I flipping love big chunky eyebrows, I overplucked *and* I think what did survive the 90s massacre is getting more sparse as I get older, which is very annoying. The folly of youth!
I love my curly dark brown hair. Growing up I always wanted straight glossy blond hair- the kind that hangs perfectly and never seems to frizz. I spent a decent amount of my life trying to tame it, but not anymore. As I’ve grown older I’ve leaned into the curls. Now I really love the way my hair looks and how it’s a reflection of who I am. I especially love looking at pictures of my children (or my ancestors!) and seeing that curly dark hair.

That's such a lovely reminder that although we struggle to see beauty in ourselves, we can so easily see it in others!

As someone who spends a lot of money and time to be a redhead, I am incredibly jealous!

It's so funny looking back at the things we were desperate to change isn't it?
And I totally agree about seeing our features in our family members, I get my tooth gap from my grandad and my uncle has it as well. So special!
