An absolutely brilliant post Lex. I don’t think I was ever meant for social media. I am a reader. I love long captions on posts especially if they are well written like yours. I look forward to your Substack posts. Keep it up Lex. X
Thank you so much Denise, I feel the same. I always want to write more and read more from others, I'm definitely more of a long-form person! And you saying you look forward to my Substack posts has honestly just made my day x
Such an interesting post, thank you! I miss the old days of blogging and the old days of Instagram, but it feels like the creators I love the most also miss that and are finding ways to get it back. I hope you wrote more posts like this. I really enjoy your writing
I miss it too, but I agree, I've seen so many of the OG bloggers coming back to long-form content. I think everyone's a bit burnt out and disillusioned with the push to video and expectation of hyperstylised and overly-edited content. I'm loving having the space to talk!
Loved this essay! Since seeing that you’ve launched a Substack I’ve been excited for your writing/sharing for the very reasons you outline. Really looking forward to more of your long form writing.
I’ve learned so much from all of the rosacea information you share online. It’s been truly life changing. Thank you.
It’s so interesting! Writing has honestly been the thing that I refused to give up, but that’s why I struggle with social media in general. I’m glad you’re taking up writing again!! Well done

Well, this was the converse, and very interesting. You should definitely write more - you're very good at it!
