Your last sentence- “pitting ‘care’ against ‘greed’ can feel like bringing a knife to a gunfight” rings so TRUE but that’s why those who have the ability to show up are so important and appreciated by those of us on the sidelines. Rooting for you Lex and so appreciate that you are in this space.

Thank you so much for saying this, Zoe. This kind of support is what inspires me to keep showing up, it genuinely really helps! x

I really appreciate what you do Lex. As someone who at some points in the last 3 - 4 years has gone down a wellness rabbit hole, come back to your writing because I think it's grounded in reality. It's quite interesting to watch some of those who I consider grifters as their advice seems to change with the seasons and then it all boils down to "oh but you're not trying hard enough". From you I get the real sense of your own experience & thoughtfulness around rosacea as this piece confirms. Thank you!

Thank you so much for this comment, Emma. That all sounds so familiar, especially the pushing of the responsibility onto the sufferer. So many of these courses, or diets, or product pushing regimes all boil down to 'well you probably did it wrong or didn't believe enough or didn't try' and it's so manipulative. It drives me mad. It means they can sell their snakeoil, make their money and wash their hands of anyone who wasn't happy with the results. Classic grifters.

I really appreciate and am so happy that you see the thought and heart I put into my content, I try to make sure that I meet people where they are and offer a different perspective, while still trying to gently guide them to (scientifically proven!) things that will help (either physically or mentally). It may not be as eye-catching, or viral, or sexy as the claims and promises some of these grifters make, but it's true and comes from a place of care.
