For Those Who've Been On The Fence
Get a discount throughout July to celebrate one year of Rosacea Club!
I can’t quite believe it, but July marks a whole year of Rosacea Club on Substack! I am having such a wonderful time here and I appreciate you being along for the ride. I’ve been writing about rosacea and sharing myself online for over 12 years, but I really feel like I’ve found my place on Substack.
I love that I can share my educational rosacea content, with enough space for detail and nuance, links to further reading, recommendations, and background so I can give you as much information as I think you need.
I love that I can share more of myself with my monthly newsletter, where I gather all sorts of things I think you’ll like: informative articles and videos from other creators; recommendations for films, TV, and books that I’m loving; rosacea news; products I’ve discovered… and anything else that catches my eye.
I love that I can discover other people sharing both information and themselves, truly beautiful and impactful writing that I would never have otherwise found. It feels like the early days of blogging when people were there for the love of writing and helping others, rather than to go viral.
But more importantly, I love that it feels safe here. After some truly horrible experiences, social media just isn’t a fun place for me right now. The first ever post I wrote on Substack was about my experiences of trolling and cruelty at the hands of social media users (which you can read HERE).
And I just haven’t been tempted to return to posting there regularly. Understandably, this has had a negative impact on my income because brands are really only interested in social content and if you’re no longer visible there… you basically don’t exist to them.
Those of you who have followed me for a while will know that I’m really picky with the brands I work with, I am not one of those creators who take on multiple paid collaborations every month and I never have been. In fact, I haven’t done any paid brand work for 9 months. But in that time I’ve published 46 posts on here and the same amount on social media. Even without the paid collaborations that usually help to keep things running, I continue to show up and do the work, because I think what I do is really important. But I have to be honest, it’s just not sustainable without support.
I want to thank you for being here, for reading, commenting, liking, sharing, and cheering me on while I found my way. An enormous and extra special thank you to those of you who have supported me with a paid subscription, it honestly means more than I can put into words. You’re the reason I am still here.
In celebration of my Substack birthday, I’m discounting all subscriptions until the end of July. These discounts will last for as long as you have a subscription. (BTW, if you already have a monthly subscription, you can upgrade to the annual one to save more money!)
A monthly subscription is now only £4 (which works out at 92p a week!) and a yearly subscription is only £44 (which works out to 84p a week - bonkers!)
In case you need any more encouragement, my paid subscribers have access to all sorts of fun extras:
Exclusive articles (e.g. detailed skincare routines, personal essays)
Monthly Q&A posts where you can ask for help, recommendations, or advice from me and the community
The Rosacea Clubhouse private subscriber chat, where you can get support, enter competitions, and chat about anything you like
I really hope you’ll join us, it’s a fun place to hang out - even if I do say so myself!
While I have you, I’ve been posting some articles this week that I’ve updated and moved over from my old website. I didn’t send them out as individual emails as I didn’t want to overwhelm your inbox with 4 posts in a week (!) so I’m sharing them here instead:
If you have any questions about subscriptions, let me know in the comments below and I’ll do my best to help.
