The Sunscreens I'm Loving Right Now
The UK is revoltingly warm at the moment, but these sunscreens are making it more bearable
In the UK, we have had more sunshine in 2025 so far than we had over the entirety of the summer of 2024. It’s been bonkers. Obviously, everyone else has been utterly thrilled about this, with beer gardens, parks, and beaches full to bursting. I, however, have been … less than thrilled!
UV exposure is the most common rosacea trigger among sufferers and - predictably - my skin has been pretty cranky over the past few weeks.
I know that sunscreen can be one of the trickiest parts of a sensitive skin routine, so I’m here to share my current sunscreen rotation: the 4 sunscreens I’ve used the most recently and why I love them so much (+ one new launch I’m really excited about…)

Sunscreens For Rosacea
Ultra Violette Future Fluid*
You may have already seen me raving about this as I’ve been a fan from the moment it launched earlier this year. So much so, that I featured it in the RosaceaCon giftbags so all of the attendees could try it as well.
It’s a mineral sunscreen, which would typically have me turning my nose up as they are so often heavy, greasy, and leave even the melanin-deprived of us looking like Casper. But this one has taken everything I believed about mineral sunscreens and turned it on its head. It’s lightweight, a dream to apply, and it has a gorgeous glowy finish. It’s ridiculously good.
It does have a slight tint to it, but I don’t think it’s noticeable on my pale skin which is a relief. I find tinted sunscreens can look a little odd when you apply the correct amount!

Beauty Of Joseon Relief Sun Rice + Probiotics
I first tried this sunscreen in Japan last year and subsequently bought 5 tubes to bring home with me! It is available in the UK but was about £5 in Tokyo so I took advantage. It’s a chemical sunscreen that is a gel-cream texture that is so lightweight, hydrating, cooling on my skin. I know some people won’t believe that applying sunscreen can be a nice experience, but I urge them to try this one and see if it changes their mind!

Ultra Violette Fave Fluid*
I was sent this at the same time as Future Fluid and I think it was slightly overshadowed by that, which is a shame as it’s a really great sunscreen in its own right. It’s a chemical formula and it’s probably the lightest sunscreen I’ve ever used. It’s so easy to apply and if you are someone who hates that heavy feeling sunscreen can sometimes give, this will be a breath of fresh air for you.
Tip: I apply this one in a few layers, otherwise it’s so runny it goes everywhere! I do 3 pointer-finger-lengths of sunscreen in 3 goes. (Let me know if you’d like a video of my sunscreen application as it’s hard to explain well in text!)

COSRX Ultra-Light Invisible Sunscreen
I bought this on a whim and hadn’t heard anyone else talking about it, and I was really pleasantly surprised. This is a chemical sunscreen formula that feels just like a serum or light moisturiser. It’s particularly nice to apply during warm weather as it really does feel like it’s soothing and cooling my skin.
Ingredient info: Fragrance-free and alcohol-free. Contains niacinamide. It also contains witch hazel which my skin typically hates, but I haven’t had any issues with this.
I also want to try their Aloe Soothing Sun Cream as that sounds lovely!

New Sunscreen Launch
By the way, have you seen the newest sunscreen from La Roche-Posay - Anthelios UVAIR? It’s just launched and it looks really interesting. I’ve been a fan of the Anthelios UVMUNE 400 Invisible Sunscreen for years and, from early reviews, this one sounds even lighter. I’m going to try to get my mitts on it soon and I will let you know my thoughts!

I’m using the dermalogica porescreen (mineral, spf 40) right now and it makes my skin look amazing! It’s a little too expensive to justify (usd $55 for 1 ounce), so I may give the ultra violette a shot.
Hi, just wondered if you found the alcohol denat in the Ultra Violette Fave Fluid and La Roche Posay sunscreens an issue? I love the runny consistency and know these formulas often need the alcohol content to achieve this but in the past, I’m not sure whether it was irritating and drying my skin. Agree on the Future Fluid though, love it. Also can recommend the Paulas Choice Youth Extending SPF 50. Thin, liquid, unfragranced and untinted. Used it on and off for years.
