Lex Loves: 6 Products I've Been Loving Recently
Summery skincare, an incredible sunscreen, and glossy lip products (who even am I?)
Sometimes I just want to quickly tell you about things I’ve been using and enjoying, just like I would do if we were friends and I met you for a coffee. So here we are. I’ve discovered a few fantastic products recently, so here are six of them with some mini reviews for your reading pleasure.

6 Products I’ve Been Loving Recently
Sol De Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream*
I had looked at this body moisturiser so many times and couldn’t really understand why anyone would buy a pricey moisturiser over a bog-standard one… and then I actually tried the Sol De Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream. Good lord. Not only is it a really good moisturiser, but the smell is absolutely gorgeous and, I’m telling you, it lingers. I can put it on in the morning and I can still smell it on my skin when I get into bed.
Obviously it’s not a daily moisturiser (I’m not a millionaire) but if I’m going out and I want a lovely treat that makes me smell fantastic, this is the one. And the pot is enormous so I’ll probably still be using it next summer…
Also - fun fact - it’s apparently pronounced ‘boom boom’. The more you know!

Byoma Hydrating Milky Moisturiser*
I’ve raved about Byoma many times before, they are a wonderful brand who have great products at super affordable prices.
This is a lovely simple moisturiser that has been great in the recent warmer weather. It has a really light, gel-like consistency that feels so lovely and soothing on my skin when it’s all hot and sweaty.

Ultra Violette Disco Queen SPF50 Luminous Body Oil*
I don’t think I would have tried this product if left to my own devices (I just don’t think I’m the target market for a sparkly body sunscreen…) but it’s actually really pretty. Please note, to get the full SPF50 protection, you would have to apply a lot and would probably find yourself sliding off chairs and starting small fires with the reflecting properties. But for someone like me who stays out of the sun but still wants their legs to have that glowy sheen, applied with restraint, this is lovely.

NYX Lip Lingerie Lip Liner Stain + NYX Butter Gloss
I am not a glossy lip person. I have been a dedicated matte lipstick woman for well over a decade. So I really don’t know what came over me when I picked up this NYX Butter Gloss in ‘Tiramisu’. But I’m really glad I did. I paired it with the NYX Lip Lingerie Lip Liner Stain in ‘Cuff Me’ - I have a very pale lip line with some freckles that make my lips look quite uneven, so I just wanted something that was close to my natural lip colour, but would give them a bit of oomph.
The stain is easy to apply and really lasts, which is handy when wearing glosses or satin lipsticks because they need a lot of reapplication (one of the reasons I usually prefer matte lipsticks!) but it’s handy to just top up the glossy and have the liner sorted for the whole day. The glossy finish and feel is taking some getting used to, but I am enjoying the change.

Bioderma Photoderm Ultra-Fluid AR+ SPF50+*
I’m always on the hunt for sunscreens to recommend and when I saw that Bioderma had released one using the same technology as the fantastic AR+ products (which I spoke about here), I knew it was going to be a good one.
The whole range is designed with sensitive and reactive skin in mind, and the sunscreen is no different. It’s lightweight, non-greasy, serves as a great base for make up, and I’ve had no rosacea irritation while using it, even around my very sensitive eyes.

Beauty Pie Happy Face No Stress Jelly Cleanser*
I always turn to a gel cleanser in the warmer months because I find the texture so cooling and calming on my warm skin. This one from Beauty Pie is great: it easily removes make up, doesn’t irritate my eyes, leaves my skin feeling comfortable and calm, and comes in an enormous bottle with a pump. Love love love.
